So I am back with a vengeance...continuing my quest with South Beach. I am currently on Week1 of Phase 1 Day 3. Honestly, I feel great. I know the tools to achieve my goal which I started out on 4 years ago, I just have to use them again and be consistent. One of my favorite quotes,
"Success is more a function of consistent common sense than it is of genius. -Wang, An
Makes sense right?
I signed up for the Phillies 5k at the end of March and glad I did, thanks to my sister in law. I am on a 10k training program which is good for me because I have structure. I will follow the program MWF and Tu,TH,S will be crosstraining and strength. Sunday I am taking a day off.
Already completed the C25K, so this will just extend the lengths of my runs.
OK off to prep some food for the remainder of the week.

Gone Much?
Wow its been a month and all I can say is its been busy.
School started for my girls. Third and fifth graders this year. Definitely a change in homework as they get older. All in all though they seem to be enjoying it so far. Who knows its only been a week. Already I am hearing from my fifth grader, I need a bigger backpack and new shoes. Its true, so looks like a trip to Target or Walmart is in my immediate future.
Handyman (my dear husband) and I decided to set some ground rules with our spending. We did alot this year with vacations and mini vacations. Time to stop ignoring the credit cards and get them paid off. The decision was made that if we can get them paid off by end of next year then the following year we will go to Disney. So far so good, on a cash basis with everything. No frivolous spending and less camping next summer. WIll keep you updated on how this goes.
Eating and exercise has been here and there. Seems I always slip up when we are camping. My weight has maintained. I just need to start working on more consistency so I am not bouncing around but actually losing. As you can see I do lose better when there are less carbs involved so working on that. When I did South Beach I ate one grain and one fruit a day with the rest being protein and veggies and it definitely worked so maybe I will sway in that direction more.
Food/Fitness
B-1.5 deviled eggs,slice of bacon,coffee
L-3 BLT's sans bread w/ a little mayo (rolled in romaine)
S-yogurt (light n fit)
D-eggplant parm (low carb) and green salad
96oz of water
E-3.5 miles outside of alternating running and walking every 1/3 mile roughly
Have a lovely day...I know I will with this gorgeous weather...some rain would be helpful soon.

Yada Yada Yada
Love that line from Seinfeld.
I realized I hadn't updated in awhile and don't want to let it fall by the wayside.
This past weekend we went camping at the Jersey Shore, well forget the exercise and food choices were ok could have been a little better (ahem carrot cheesecake). It was blazing hot. Friday was bearable and so we headed to the beach. Glad we did because Saturday the Garden State Pkwy was jammed and it was soooooo Hot!!!! We are talking heat and humidity. That day we went to a nice seafood restaurant for lunch and then just hung out the rest of the day in the air conditioned camper. The mosquitoes were terrible too. So what did I learn from this experience 1.) to get even remotely close to a beach at a campground make reservations WAAAY in advance 2.) the shore on the weekends is a mob scene 3.) Living so close to Jersey we could make it a day trip and get our fill of the boardwalk and sand. All in all the kids had fun, I think?, and thats what matters.
Yesterday my eating was back on plan and so was exercise.
Food included
Breakfast
-2 egg omelette w/ slice of Naturally SLender American, coffee
Lunch
-green salad w/ turkey, 2% shredded cheddar, cukes, a pickle spear and apple w/ PB
Snack
-Chobani Raspberry greek yogurt
Dinner
-hamburger patty, roasted butternut squash, and a green salad (oh and maybe a hot dog too)
Snack
-donut from our local fair (so yummy)
Exercise was running/walking Intervals for 52 minutes.
I did forget to weight today and will do so first thing in the morning.
